Recall that, Schools across the whole states were closed down since the 23rd of March, 2020, as a safety measure to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
I know we've all read post on school resumption countless times but a date is yet to be decided, we all have to exercise patient as the government is doing it's best to make sure schools are reopened as soon as possible.
However, the federal government has promised it would continue to monitor the situations with the aim of preventing further spread of the virus.
This information was disclosed during the Presidential Task Force (PTF) 100th day briefing on COVID-19 by the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire.
“There is no fix date on schools’ resumption. The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 is studying the situation, carrying out reviews every two and four weeks to access the situation and judge when it is safe."
According to the health minister, he added that: “The Federal Government is taking very seriously the balanced between safety and preventing disease explosion, and the opening of schools.
“We are encouraging schools to embrace online training and education as much as possible."
“As soon as the details are established and the risk of transmission is measured and established."
“He further added: “Interstate travel is still prohibited but travels within the states are allowed. Non-essential travels should be postponed, delayed or cancelled for now.
“We also encourage local governments with high burden (called hot spots) to be strictly followed the advisories, stay indoors, use masks, and also ensure that movements to those hotspots are restricted.”
Schools across the states have been shut down indefinitely, we all hope to resume school activities soon.
There has also been incessant cases of rape here and there, kidnapping, thuggery, theft and so on and this could be as a result idleness as most students are at home doing nothing and everyone can not be opportuned to havene or two things doing to provide their basic needs.
We also call on schools to implement an online class/program for students to engage them daily pending when schools will be reopened.
