Have you registered for N - Power? Things you need to know

federal government has said a total of 500,000 Nigerians have benefitted so far in the N-POWER scheme just as it confirmed that enrolment for Batch C beneficiaries began on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11:45pm.

 
The federal ministry of Humanitarian Affairs,Disaster Management and Social Development, which said this statement on Saturday night by it's Deputy Director of press, Rhoda IIlya, gave the break down as 200,000 beneficiaries in Batch A, while 300,000 in Batch B. Recall that Batch A started in September 2016, while Batch B kicked off in August 2018.

According to statement, it explained that beneficiaries were supposed to spend 24 months on the programme and were spread across the key industries targeted by the program_ Agriculture, Health, Education & Tax.

"The enrollment of a new batch of beneficiaries is sequel to far-reaching consultations and a review of the submissions on the reform and realignment of the programme for greater efficiency, this batch will focus on the N-TECH, N-Health, N-Agro as well as N-Build N-Creative & N-Teach. Under the guidelines provided by the programme, N-Teach and N-HEALTH are open only to graduates, while undergraduates & non-graduates are eligible to N-AGRO as well as N-Build, N-Creative & N-Tech".it stated.

A statement by the minister, Sadeya Unar Farouq noted that by enrolling a new batch, the N-power provision(a key component of the National SD investment provision) is providing opportunities for more youths to gain skills for employability and enterpreneurship. It also provides a pipeline skilled Nigerians to help rebuild the economy post-COVID 19.

Batches A & B beneficiaries will commence the transition process on June 30 & July 31 respectively, into entrepreneurship or employment (for those who passed the psychometric tests to make way tlfor Batch C.

From a reliable source, I heard that part of the benefits one gains from this are; a laptop and some cash ( amount unstated ).

Criterias for registration

✓ past beneficiaries are not allowed to participate in the application process for Batch C .

✓ must be an eligible Nigerian of 18 - 35 years old.

✓ must have Bank Verification Number (BVN), current passport photo graph ( jpeg or Png ), active email address & academic certification (Ssce, degrees e.t.c)
